George Clooney on Tom Cruise’s COVID-19-related outburst: ‘It’s just not my style’
Tom Cruise made the news on Midweek (December 16) when an audio clip of him berating ii crew members on the set of the Mission Impossible 7 moving picture was leaked by British tabloid The Sun.
The 58-year-old star, who is also a producer on the pic, was angry that the staff had breached COVID-19 protocol and didn't maintain sufficient altitude between them.
His tirade, which included a lot of F-bombs, also touched on the fact that any breach in wellness measures could shut downwards product and crusade people to lose their livelihoods.
Fellow A-listing celebrity George Clooney has weighed in on the effect, having been asked to comment during his interview on Howard Stern's radio bear witness on Wednesday.
Clooney said that he didn't call up Cruise over-reacted "because it is a problem", withal, Clooney wouldn't have done it quite the same manner.
"I wouldn't have done it that large. I wouldn't have, you know, pulled people out," he added.
"Yous do accept a responsibleness for everybody else, and he's admittedly right near that. And, you know, if the production goes down, a lot of people lose their jobs. People have to understand that and take to be responsible. It's merely not my style to, you know, to accept everybody to task that way. It doesn't help necessarily, to betoken to specific people in that way, but everybody has their own way."
The 59-twelvemonth-old thespian also said that while he wouldn't have done information technology that way, he didn't know the circumstances leading up to the moment. "Maybe (Cruise) had it 10 or xv times before," he said.
During his outburst, Cruise threatened to fire those who broke the rules.
"If I run across y'all doing it again, you're f—ing gone and if anyone on this crew does it, that's information technology. No apologies."
The Sunday has since reported on Dec 17 that five crew members take quit the movie after Prowl went on a 2d rant. The tabloid quoted a source every bit saying: "The first burst was big but things haven't calmed since. Tension has been building for months and this was the final harbinger. Since it became public there has been more than anger and several staff have walked".
